About Us

Let me be straightforward with you about what this website is. eshraamcard.com is not run by the government. It is not an official portal. It does not have any connection to the Ministry of Labour and Employment or the e-Shram scheme at eshram.gov.in. If you came here thinking this is the official e-Shram website, please go directly to eshram.gov.in for any registration, download, or account-related work.

What this site actually is — a plain-language guide. Nothing more, nothing less.

What We Actually Do Here

The e-Shram portal was built for India’s unorganized workers. Hundreds of millions of people — construction workers, street vendors, domestic help, farmers, gig workers, daily wage earners — are supposed to register, get their UAN card, check their payment status, and access social security benefits through it.

The problem is not the scheme. The problem is that navigating any government portal in India requires a certain familiarity with digital systems that a huge portion of these workers simply have not had the chance to build. The official portal does not explain what to do when the OTP fails. It does not tell you why your balance shows zero. It does not walk you through what documents to keep ready before you sit down to register.

That is what this site does.

Every guide here is based on actually using the portal. The registration walkthrough was written while going through the process live. The download methods were checked because some of them stop working and you need to know which one does. The payment status section exists because “my balance is zero” is one of the most common and most misunderstood situations e-Shram users face — and the answer is almost never what people assume.

Who Writes This

There is no famous expert behind this site. No government-empanelled consultant. No NGO funding it.

This site is run by someone who covers Indian government digital schemes — the kind of person who spends time actually testing these portals, reading official circulars, and writing up what they found in language that does not require a law degree to understand. The focus is narrow and intentional: e-Shram, how it works, how to use it, and what to do when it does not work.

No invented credentials. No fake author bio with a stock photo. Just the work — which you can evaluate by reading it.

What This Site Will Never Do

This site will never charge you for e-Shram registration. The official registration at eshram.gov.in is completely free, and it always has been. Any website or person charging money to register you for e-Shram is either unnecessary or misleading you.

This site cannot access your account. It cannot check your UAN status, fix your KYC, process a payment, or intervene in any government process on your behalf. Nobody outside the official portal can do those things.

This site will not publish unverified information about payment dates, new scheme launches, or benefit amounts unless it comes from an official government source. There is a lot of rumour and speculation about e-Shram payments circulating online. You will not find that here.

How Information Here Gets Written

The process is simple. Before any guide goes up, the process it describes gets checked against what the actual portal shows. Screenshots are taken from the live interface. When the portal changes its layout or a process gets updated, the article gets updated — because a guide that described how something worked six months ago and no longer does is worse than no guide at all.

Official sources used: eshram.gov.in, labour.gov.in, PFMS portal, UMANG app, DigiLocker, and Ministry of Labour press releases and circulars. When a claim cannot be verified against one of these, it does not get published.

If Something Here Is Wrong

It will happen. Portals change. Scheme details get revised. Something accurate today may be outdated in three months.

If you find information on this site that does not match what you are seeing on the official portal — use the contact page and tell us. Specifically. What article, what step, what the portal actually shows instead. That kind of correction is taken seriously and acted on.

The goal of this site is to be useful and accurate. Those two things only stay true if errors get fixed when they are found.

For Official Help

If you need to actually do something with your e-Shram account — register, update your mobile number, fix a KYC error, check your payment, make an insurance claim — go to the official portal or contact the official support:

Official portal: eshram.gov.in Official helpline: 14434 (toll-free)

This site explains the process. The process itself happens at the government’s portal, not here.
